Our Services
CAMUR (the “Centro de Asistencia al Migrante Urbano y Rural”, or “Urban and Rural Migrant Assistance Center” in English) is a nonprofit immigrant legal services organization dedicated to providing assistance to people throughout the U.S., including in rural and other underserved areas. CAMUR utilizes remote technology, pop events, and limited in person services to reach clients in their communities and remove barriers to accessing services.
CAMUR is committed to making high quality legal services available to immigrants regardless of their income level. CAMUR charges for services on a sliding scale and offers a range of support including full scope representation, limited scope representation, pro se support services, and workshops.
Our attorneys have decades of combined experience and are here to help you as you navigate the complex U.S. immigration system.
-
Our representation process begins with a legal consultation. At this consultation, a CAMUR attorney will assess your case including your immigration history and provide you with recommended strategies. We will also tell you how we can help you and what services we offer that would address the challenges you are facing. We strive to offer our clients a range of services that meet their budget and case needs.
Our consultations are conducted remotely and available to immigrants regardless of their geographic location.
Consultations start at $150.

For immigrants seeking to file an asylum application with USCIS or with the Immigration Court without representation, CAMUR offers limited scope representation for purposes of I-589 preparation and filing. This service is offered remotely for immigrants in any location in the U.S.
Price available upon completion of consultation.

Work permits are an essential document yet the process of obtaining a work permit can often be complicated. CAMUR offers limited scope representation to immigrants seeking work permits. This service is more affordable than full scope representation and offers a solution to people who would like to access a way to begin earning income in the U.S. This service is offered remotely to immigrants located anywhere in the U.S. and includes both initial and renewal work permit applications.
Please remember that work permit eligibility is usually linked to other immigration applications or other immigration status and not everyone is eligible to apply for a work permit.
A consultation is required to determine work permit eligibility.
Price available upon completion of consultation.

Survivors of violence, workplace harms, and human trafficking may be eligible for certain forms of protection under U.S. immigration laws. CAMUR attorneys are experienced in working with survivors of harm seeking forms of relief including U Visa, T Visa, VAWA, and Labor Based Deferred Action (DALE). From our years of working with clients, we are aware that these forms of immigration relief may present complex challenges including reliving past trauma, interacting with law enforcement, and participating in prosecutions. Throughout this process, we are here to offer support that centers the survivor and creates a safe environment to successfully complete applications for relief based on past harms.
These services are offered remotely to immigrants located anywhere in the U.S.

U.S. citizens and permanent residents can petition for certain family members to come to the United States. We offer help for those looking to bring family members to the U.S. or to help family members currently in the U.S. adjust their status. Family-based immigration can be complex and take a long time to process, often taking years for visas to become available. Applicants living in the U.S. must also determine if they are eligible to apply for residency within the country or if they need to travel abroad for consular processing. If you have a qualifying family member interested in petitioning for you or your loved ones, we would be happy to help.
This service is available remotely to immigrants located anywhere in the U.S.

PIP is a valuable benefit that allows individuals who entered the United States without being inspected or admitted to apply for Adjustment of Status without having to obtain an I-601A waiver or depart the U.S. for consular processing. If PIP is granted, you will receive a Form I-94 as proof of parole, enabling you to apply for Adjustment of Status. This service is available remotely to immigrants located anywhere in the U.S.

Advance parole is a travel document that allows certain individuals to re-enter the United States without a visa after traveling abroad. It is commonly used by individuals with pending applications for immigration benefits or changes in status, including Adjustment of Status, Asylum, TPS, DACA, and DALE. Adjustment of status is the process that allows you to apply for lawful permanent resident status (commonly known as a Green Card) while you are in the United States. This means you can obtain a Green Card without having to exit the U.S. for visa processing. CAMUR offers assistance with adjustment of status for various qualifying relief options, including the Cuban Adjustment Act, U and T Visas, VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) Adjustment of Status, and Family-Based Adjustment of Status, including those eligible to adjust under 245(i).
This service is available remotely to immigrants located anywhere in the U.S.
Price available upon completion of consultation.
-
The process for adjusting status varies depending on whether you’re already in the United States or still in your country of origin. If you’re applying from your country of origin, your application will go through consular processing, which means it will be handled by the local U.S. Embassy or consulate. During this time, you’ll need to wait in your country of origin while your adjustment application is processed. Only individuals who qualify for a Green Card (through marriage, employment, or other relative petitions) and have filed the appropriate petition should proceed with consular processing. Once your petition is approved and a visa becomes available, you can begin consular processing. This process is designed to keep families together and prevent indefinite separation, ensuring that loved ones can be reunited as quickly and effectively as possible.

CAMUR proudly partners with other nonprofit organizations serving immigrant communities through presentations and workshops. If you are a nonprofit organization interested in partnering with us, please read more to find out about the partnership services we offer!
CAMUR offers free presentations for other nonprofit community organizations that support immigrants. Our presentations focus on a range of topics from general “Know Your Rights” presentations to presentations focusing on specific forms of immigration relief such as asylum, Labor Based Deferred Action (DALE), visas for survivors of violence (U Visa) and survivors of human trafficking (T visa), family based petitions, and citizenship. These presentations are an opportunity for us to provide general information to help empower community members.
